If your For You page has looked like one long smoky eye lately, you're not imagining it. "Goth baddie" has taken over TikTok this week 🦇, and it's not the same moody, milk maid gothic we've all done before. Think sculpted, snatched cheekbones, a sharp structured brow, smoked out eyes with real dimension, and a lip that's somewhere between vampy and glossy villain era. It's goth with a glam up dial, and it might be our favourite trend of the summer.
Here's how we're building it, step by step, using our own vegan and cruelty free kit (as always).
Step 1: Sculpt before you do anything else
Goth baddie lives and dies on bone structure, so start with contour, not concealer. Chisel underneath your cheekbones, along your jaw, and into your temples using our Perfectly Sculpted Powder Contour Palette. It has six blendable, silky shades, so you can build depth gradually instead of ending up with two stripes on your face.
Warm it up with our Second Skin Powder Bronzer in Toffee, swept across the high points of your face for that lived in, sun kissed (but still very indoors, very nocturnal) finish.
Step 2: Snatch it with highlighter
This is the "baddie" part of goth baddie. Once your contour is set, hit your cheekbones, cupid's bow, and the inner corners of your eyes with our Second Skin Powder Highlighter in Euphoria. You want it to look like your bone structure is doing the talking, not the product.
Step 3: Build smoked, structured eyes
Forget one flat wash of black. Goth baddie eyes have layers: a warm transition shade in the crease, a deep smoky shadow on the lid, and definition underneath. Our Til Death Palette has exactly the tones you need for this, from soft browns to inky, near black shadows that blend without going patchy.
Keep your brows heavily defined and a little sharp. This trend rewards structure everywhere, not just on the eyes.
Step 4: Sharp wing, big lashes
Now for the liner. Our Infinity Eyeliner Pen in Black has an ultra fine, waterproof tip, which makes it much easier to get a crisp, symmetrical wing without three attempts and a wet wipe. Take it out further and sharper than you think you need to.
Finish with a couple of coats of our AMPLIFIED Mascara, our gothic festival tubing formula that's built to survive sweat, tears, and questionable weather without flaking. Volume is the whole point here, so don't be shy.
Step 5: A lip that's part vamp, part gloss
This is where goth baddie earns its name. Line and fill your lips with our Air Matte Liquid Lipstick in Haunted, a deep, blackened plum that reads dark without looking flat. Then, instead of leaving it fully matte, tap our Electric Lip Gloss in Baddie over the centre of your lips for that plumped, glassy finish. Matte edges, glossy middle: that's the whole trick.
The whole look, together
Sculpted skin, snatched highlight, smoked structured eyes, a sharp wing, and a vampy glossed lip: that's goth baddie in five steps. It's dramatic without being costume-y, and it photographs beautifully in low festival lighting or your bathroom mirror at 11pm, whichever you're working with tonight 🖤.
As always, every product in this look is vegan and cruelty free, because looking like a delicious little villain shouldn't cost anyone else anything.
Tag us in your goth baddie looks, we genuinely can't get enough of seeing how you make this one your own.
